Welcome to Theatre Fantasy,

I am a 20 year old student currently studying English at Coventry University. For quite a few years I have become increasingly interested in many aspects of the arts; books, movies and the theatre (especially musical theatre). I have always loved writing and I have finally made the decision to create a blog, to allow me to write about the things I love.

I often go to the theatres in London’s West End and to my local theatre to see productions of plays and musicals. Some of the musical productions I have seen in the last 12 months include Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, Sunset Boulevard, The Sound of Music, Funny Girl, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. A few of the plays I have seen include Noel Coward’s Private Lives, and Shakespeare’s Hamlet. I have several more trips planned for the near future which I will be reviewing for you to read.

As I am an English student I have to do a wide range of reading. I particularly enjoy the works of Jane Austen which are included in my course. In my spare time I enjoy reading the autobiographies of the actors and famous personalities I look up to. To name a few, I have read the autobiographies of Carol Burnett, Julie Andrews, Lauren Bacall and Anjelica Huston. I will be reviewing these and many more of the books which I am yet to read.

For quite some time I have been interested in Old Hollywood movies and the actors who became famous in that era. Some of my favourite films include All About Eve and Sunset Boulevard, and a few of the actresses I have come to love are Joan Crawford, Katharine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall. I will be writing recommendations about my favourite films and actors and hopefully I can even inspire you to watch a few of them!

Thank you for reading!
